Chiara Palla

Chiara was born in 1988 in Treviso, a charming walled town not far from Venice. She graduated in 2010 at the University of Padova in “Aerospace Engineering” with the thesis “Development of meteorological satellites: from TIROS to Meteosat third generation”. She’s currently attending the last year of “Aerospace Engineering” master at the University of Padova. She’s also a sportswoman: she’s an Alpine ski competitor since she was eight and she’s also a board member of ski club Treviso. She also likes to play tennis during spring and summer periods. Now, for the MISSUS Experiment, Chiara is the team leader and the responsible for the management, assisted by Francesca.

 

Davide Bettio

Davide was born in 1989 in Padova. He got his diploma as computer expert  in 2009. Now he’s an “Information Engineering” student. His interests are user interfaces development, embedded systems, operating systems, virtual machines and C++ development. He’s a KDE developer since 2006. In 2007 he started to work on KDE Plasma project. Currently KDE software is used by millions of users around the world. In 2010 he contributed to psort project that is the fastest external sorter. In the meantime he has also worked on several personal projects including an operating system kernel. Davide is the MISSUS experiment software developer and co-responsible in the electronics design.

 

Veronica Botti

Veronica was born in Asolo, in 1988 and she lives in Caerano di San Marco, a small town near Venice. She got her diploma at Liceo Scientifico in 2007. Currently she’s attending the third year of “Aerospace Engineering”. Meanwhile she has a part-time job as a waitress. During the first and the second year of Engineering she also studied Polish and she passed a brief period in Warszawa to improve it. She’s also a musician and she studied classic guitar for eleven years. In the MISSUS team Veronica is responsible in thermal design and co- responsible for the RTD sensor development.

 

Sebastiano Chiodini

Sebastiano was born in Venice in 1987. He graduated in 2010 in “Aerospace Engineering” at the University of Padova with a thesis about friction phenomena in rotating systems. He studied for two years at the École Centrale de Lyon in France and he’s currently attending the “Aerospace Engineering Master” at the University of Padova. In the team Sebastiano is responsible for the data analysis and he’s involved in the Pitot tube design.

 

Davide Cornale

Davide was born in Valdagno in 1990 and he’s a bachelor student of “Information Engineering” at the University of Padova. Before university, he attended a technical institute specialized in electronics and telecommunications and, for his high school diploma, he designed and developed a mp3 player. He’s currently administrator and developer of a webgame. In the Team Davide is responsible for the electronics and the electrical interface and co-responsible in the software design.

 

Francesca Cucciarrè

Francesca was born in 1983 in Valdagno. She graduated in “Aerospace Engineering” in 2007 with full marks and honors at the University of Padova, with the thesis “Definition and thermal design of a Stavroudis Baffle for BepiColombo mission”. She is also a musician and she graduated in piano at the Conservatory of Vicenza in 2003. In 2009 she took part to the launch campaign of the stratospheric balloon SoRa Experiment (ASI) in Longyearbyen (Svalbard islands). At present she is attending the School of PhD in “Sciences, Technologies and Measurements for Space” (SMTS) of University of Padova, with a thesis about numerical and experimental methods for the design and test of devices onboard BepiColombo Mission. In addition she is involved in DREAMS payload design onboard Exomars 2016 and she is a piano teacher. In the team Francesca is the system engineer.

 

Emanuele De Villa Bais

Emanuele was born in 1990 in Pieve di Cadore. He is a bachelor student in “Aerospace Engineering” at the University of Padova. He has been practicing snowboard for several years and he took part in many high-level competitions. He’s an active member of the Snowboard Club Cortina. He has also studied music, in particular the accordion, but he also studied keyboard as well. For the MISSUS experiment, Emanuele manages the outreach and he is involved in the Pitot tube design and in thermal design.

 

Marco Didonè

Marco was born in Castelfranco Veneto in 1990. He lives in a small town called Albaredo in the North-East of Italy. He’s a bachelor student in “Aerospace Engineering” at the University of Padova. He played basketball for ten years and at present he plays the bass guitar for a rock band. Concerning MISSUS experiment, Marco is involved in Mechanical and Structural design and thermal design.

 

Giovanni Tovo

Giovanni was born in 1988 in Valdagno, a small city in the Northern Italy. He’s a master student of “Aerospace Engineering” at the University of Padova where he took his bachelor degree in 2010 with the thesis “Experimental validation of a finite element model of a baffle for space application tested under random excitation”. He works as a barman, while in his free-time he plays soccer and he also studies piano. Concerning MISSUS experiment Giovanni is the responsible of Mechanical and Structural design and co-responsible in data analysis.

 

Ireneo Vidali

Ireneo was born in Pordenone (Northern Italy) in 1988. He graduated in “Aerospace Engineering” in 2010 with full marks at the University of Padova with a dissertation on “Advanced ceramic materials made of mullite from pre-ceramic polymers and micro-nanofillers”. He is a master student of “Aerospace Engineering”. He is also a sportsman: he has been working as a soccer referee since he was sixteen. In the MISSUS team he is the responsible of the innovative temperature sensor development and gives a contribution to system engineering activity.
